The primary responsibility of the Investments Software Developer is to enhance and migrate internally developed portfolio management application. The existing application is a .Net desktop client written in C# which utilizes a Microsoft SQL Server backend and has a legacy desktop interface written in WPF. The applicant will be expected to create new functionality in a new web frontend to be developed using Angular. The applicant will also be expected to migrate existing interfaces from the legacy desktop application into the new Angular frontend as time permits.
In addition to the work described above, the applicant may be required to enhance the Angular based frontend document management system called Alfresco.
Other short term projects will be assigned as required. Other projects may consist of ad-hoc data mining, creation of reports using report writers and Excel, and small web development projects.
Design and implement new features and enhancements to an existing .Net application, utilizing C#, Angular, Javascript, Typescript, HTML, CSS, and Entity Framework (ORM) technologies.
Analyze existing code and recommend improvement for better maintainability and performance.
Translate business requirements into technical requirements.
Write detailed technical and end user documentation.
Research, analyze and propose technical solutions to problems.
Support end users by providing training, and investigating and resolving technical issues.
Manage expectations for multiple projects simultaneously while staying on top of tasks and deliverables.
Proficient in writing code in C#
Proficient in creating user interfaces using Javascript, HTML, and CSS
Proficient in utilizing the Entity Framework ORM in a .Net application.
The ability to read and write SQL, particularly for Microsoft SQL Server
