As the Business Intelligence Project Manager, you will manage large and complex business intelligence development projects. Along with managing day-to-day operational aspects of various projects, you will support refining, prioritizing, interviewing business resources, documenting business and IT process challenging and helping to develop written roadmap for solutions.
Provides effective leadership and management of the project team, including executing end to end project lifecycle, planning resources, communicating status, and brokering team development.
Ensures projects include all the work required for successful delivery. Project Scope Management consists of scope planning, scope definition, scope verification, and scope change control.
Identifies and communicates project risks and issues and facilitates mitigation strategies according to risk likelihood. Monitors progress of issue resolution and negotiates solutions as necessary.
Serves as central communications link to IT leadership and project stakeholders by providing timely and accurate project information.
Ensures projects satisfy the agreed-upon requirements, including quality planning, quality assurance and quality control.
Identifies organizational changes that must occur and coordinates the development and implementation of appropriate communication and training programs for impacted departments and staff to support the new system.
Explains technical project solution designs and associated labor estimates and project schedules to non-technical business partners and stakeholders.
Ensures integration of all elements of a project, including hardware, software, and network components, are properly managed.
Senses, solicits, and investigates new opportunities to leverage business intelligence and related technologies for generating additional business value. Maps opportunities to achievable scopes and project proposals for business funding and sponsorship.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical/IT related program; or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Leadership and project management training are beneficial. PMP certification or equivalent preferred but not required
3+ years of project management experience, preferably in software development, data management, software implementation/integration for large and complex international organizations.
Knowledge but not required experience with business intelligence and analytics systems such as SAP Business Objects, SAP Data Services, Qlikview, Tableau or similar products.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in customer settings and with internal senior management. Solid active listening, facilitation and presentation skills.
Solid knowledge of IT software development life cycle methodologies and processes.
Ability to lead and motivate professionals to produce high quality results on time and within budget
