Position Summary:

We're looking for a Sr. Product Designer to join our talented team. Does the thought of creating the next generation products for The Weather Channel's 100 million users get you excited? As a Sr. Product Designer, you'll be involved in every aspect of the product creation process, from brainstorming the next great innovation to tweaking pixels before launch (and beyond). You'll utilize your full unicorn range of ux design, interaction design, and visual design skills, and you'll own the user experience for an area of our products across responsive web and native apps.

What you'll do:
  • Strategy & Discovery
  • Oversee the full user experience from inception to launch
  • Contribute to strategic decisions
  • Come up with bold and smart product ideas
  • Turn ideas into experiences that are feasible, useful and delightful
  • Actively participate in discovery activities to help define products and features
  • Lead ideation workshops, design studios and help with requirement gathering
  • Develop and present proof of concepts to stakeholders

Design
  • Execute high / low fidelity wireframes and user flows and understand experience implications of different platforms (responsive web, native apps)
  • Sketch and prototype to quickly iterate on ideas
  • Work with research and product managers on user testing and prototypes
  • Design visually arresting interfaces that push past the obvious and delight our fans around the globe 
  • Champion TWC brand and work with other designers to own, uphold and document design standards
  • Design with an understanding of the latest front end technologies - Ideally know some coding for prototyping

Leadership:
  • Lead design teams through major redesign projects or incremental product improvements.
  • Prioritize work effectively weighing business and user needs while assessing impact of decisions on experience

A Great candidates will have:

Experience & Skills:
  • 5 year+ brand or agency experience as Product Designer, Interaction Designer, UX/UI Designer, Interactive Designer/Art Director or a related field.
  • A well rounded point of view on user experience design - Product design is not just about visual design or just about IA.
  • Strong design aesthetic and the ability to generate ideas.
  • Ability to employ design thinking methods to solve problems and apply the right solution for a given problem
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of latest tools needed for interaction design, wireframing, and prototyping
  • Experience with user research and usability testing methods and ability to propose the right one for a given situation
  • An understanding of the latest web / app development technologies
  • Knowledge of some front end coding a big plus.
  • Killer portfolio that proves you're making something you love.
